Regional Sales Manager

 

The Regional Sales Manager position holds the key to the growth of the McHutchison brand and the development of talent throughout the Sales Organization.  The successful candidate will have a background in Horticulture/Floraculture sales, experience and exposure to Greenhouse or Nursery Operations or both and have successfully lead a Sales team. 

As one of the industry faces for McHutchison & Vaughan’s, this position demands complete professionalism, honesty, integrity and ethical standards. You must provide leadership and coordination of the regional sales management functions. Develop and implement regional sales and marketing strategies. Monitor and analyze sales and marketing activity against goals and provide leadership for our management team all in light of our financial goals and performance.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Team Leadership

Work with Sales Representatives to develop long-term customer relationships that increase the profitability in their territories.  This includes, but is not limited to:

Evaluating the health of customer relationships

Developing Sales plans in collaboration with Sales Representatives

Identifying customer and pricing and margin strategies for the region

Collaborating with Vendor Management on sampling/trialing programs

Recruit new talent into the territory and develop current talent

Onboard, monitor and measure new sales representatives

Provide regular feedback to enable the success of Sales Representatives

Advocate for your sales team to ensure proper support & service are provided by our office team

Develop and distribute Sales reporting

 

Sales Management

Assist in the creation of annual sales budgets & strategies

Collaborate with McHutchison and Dümmen Orange product managers to ensure development and deployment of sales strategies to achieve sales growth targets

Build & maintain relationships with breeders and vendors

Meeting, training and trip coordination as required

 

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Minimum 5 years in Horticulture/Floraculture Sales

Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred

Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve goals

This position requires the ability to travel and work a flexible schedule. +/-50 % travel estimated

Basic technology skills in MS Word, Excel, PP and Outlook are required

Sales Representative (Territory: Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennesee)

 

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

Work location: Remote

 

General Position Summary

Sells products or services for McHutchison & Vaughan’s while positively and proudly representing our brand. Manages relationships with customers, serving as the key point of contact, from initial lead outreach to when a purchase is ultimately made. Treats the customer’s business as they would their own.

 

Essential Functions

Present and sell all company products to new and existing customers to ensure we are maintaining or increasing business.

Prospect, qualify, and contact potential customers (leads) to increase sales revenue, improve margin and grow the total number of accounts in the territory.

Negotiating with leads and using persuasion techniques to overcome objections and landing deals that are beneficial to the company, while also providing customers with optimal value.

Close sales and ensure customers’ orders are entered and needs are met to ensure we are capturing sales and responding to customer needs.

Partner with the customer relative to their goals but also bring ideas to educate the customer and positively challenge them to think differently.

Attend regional industry events and sales training as needed.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture or related field highly desired and/or minimum of 2 years of sales or customer service experience in horticulture or related field required.

Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office OS or related products required.

Customer Service Representative

 

Job Description

Customer Service Representatives must have excellent communication and phone skills, pays great attention to detail and must be able to function while under pressure. The job requires the ability to multi-task while meeting daily deadlines to insure that customer quotes, orders and shipments are received by the set customer standards for our company.  They are responsible for order integrity/management, pricing, vendor communication, clearing of shipments (freight questions), assist in claim initiation and resolution. 

 

Accountabilities

Maintain and build relationships with Sales Force and customers.  Providing front line support to internal and external customers by being there for daily communications with field sales tools and reporting.

Drive order integrity of customer accounts throughout the entire business year.  This involves, but is not limited to, order management, shipping, subs and cuts, pricing and claims and returns.

Manage orders from start to finish including order entry, sourcing product, verifying acknowledgements, vendor confirmation, editing orders, status checks, and order changes.

Key role to sourcing product that is requested by the customer or needed due to vendor shortages.  Search for alternative vendors and provide options to customers.

Process order acknowledgments.

Provide recommendations for problem resolution.

Responsible for reporting and report/data analysis for sales reps progress. 

Identify system issues, enhancements, recommend solutions, and track resolution/completion.  Enhancements require that it improves the ease of doing business so that we can exceed customer expectations.

Develop and distribute timely communications of information.  Some communication is driven by the Customer Serivce Rep and other communication is at the request of others.

Strive for the highest internal and external customer satisfaction at all times.

Participate in special projects as requested

Backup the Billing/Quote specialist if assistance is needed

Perform other duties that support the team and involves but not limited to price pages, billing, etc..

 

Critical Experience

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Horticulture or related field.  The individual must have extensive Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook experience. Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must in order to fill this position.

Job Description

Project manager for a central Ohio floriculture product company.

 

Duties

Review project management plans; work with technical staff to initiate action plans to resolve IT issues; monitor and execute project milestones and deliverables within budget; work with IT Solution Architect and System Developers; facilitate weekly meetings; review action plans for the resolution of customer escalations.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s in management information systems, and 24 months in/with review project management plans; work with technical staff to initiate action plans to resolve IT issues; monitor and execute project milestones and deliverables within budget; 40 hrs/wk.
